Pack & Ship FAQ's
Do you ship artwork?
Yes, we stock many different box sizes, can order custom ones, or in a pinch can custom build a shipping container for irregular shaped pieces. We properly pack framed artwork using bubble pack and more for the rigors and rough-n-tumble packages face in the regular shipping environment. Bring your artwork piece in to one of our locations and we'll get you taken care of in no time.
Do you ship golf clubs?
Yes, we stock boxes (15x15x48") or (12x12x48") that are the perfect size for you golf clubs. The larger box (15x15") allows proper padding with bubble pak around your golf bag. The smaller size (12x12") fits your golf bag, but does not leave room for padding. The smaller box is less expensive to ship, but does not meet the shipping standards set by the carriers for "proper packaging". We keep this option open as we realize many folks don't mind saving a bit on shipping if they don't mind their golf bag getting banged up a bit. Do you ship internationally?
Yes, we make it very simple for you to ship your item overseas, to Canada, Mexico or any other location our carriers will go. From packing your item, preparing your customs forms, to ensuring that your item is allowed to be shipped to the receiving country, we've got you covered. Please note that foreign governments routinely place import taxes are certain goods. It is most common that the recipient of the item is responsible for paying these tariffs. We have no way to predict or know what (if any) fees will be charged to your recipient.
Do you ship electronics?
Yes, using the proper packing materials, we can ship your laptop, cell phones, computer servers or other electronic equipment. Bring your item in to one of our locations and we'll get it packed and shipped for you.
We're in the Bakken... can you really ship overnight?
Yes! While it's true the US Post Office does NOT offer overnight shipping from our region of the world, using FedEx & UPS services we really can get your package from here to Seattle, Houston, Oklahoma City, Miami (anywhere in the USA) by next business day, and sometimes even for Saturday delivery as well.
For example, FedEx operates a daily plane that flies into the Williston Airport. From Williston every evening this plane flies to Grand Forks, ND. Small planes from other airports in our region all meet in Grand Forks and load their cargo into a Boeing wide-body FedEx jet. This jet flies your package to Memphis, TN. Every evening in Memphis over 7,000 FedEx staff sort and process your shipment onto one of FedEx's more than 600 aircraft to fly your package to its destination and be delivered the next day.
Do you offer insurance for shipping?
Yes (and no). Keep in mind the number one best insurance you can buy is PROPER packaging. The way Amazon packs your items is extremely cost-effective, but should not be confused with proper packing materials.
As far as insurance, we offer what the industry calls "declared value coverage". To cover damage, coverage is only available on items that we have professionally packed to our standards. Unfortunately coverage does not extend to items packed by anyone outside of MBC or to certain commodities, like plate glass (artwork), flat screen TVs or other items considered too fragile to ship.
For lost packages, declared value coverage can be for customer or MBC packed items.
Bottom line: Yes we can provide "insurance" (Declared Value Coverage), but you're much better off investing in a good, professional pack job to protect your item from getting damaged in the first place.
What are your daily cut-off times for shipping?
Each carrier has a different pickup time at our locations. Visit or contact us for the cut-off time at your desired location.
Can I use my carrier shipping account?
MBC accepts pre-paid, pre-labeled & pre-packed packages for UPS, FedEx and US Mail, free of charge. If you have an account directly with a carrier, keep in mind that we cannot and do not create or generate shipping labels that are billed to any 3rd party account. All shipping labels that originate from a My Business Center location are paid for at the time of service. Hand-written shipping forms/documents are not stocked at My Business Center locations.
Can I get FedEx or UPS supplies at My Business Center?
Yes, FedEx/UPS/Post Office branded items are supplied at My Business Center, however they are to be used only for a shipment happening at that time. My Business Center does not provide supplies to customers to be used at a future date.
Can I apply my own label to a package MBC packs?
For liability reasons, we require any job we pack to be shipped with our system in our locations. If you have a pre-paid or your own shipping label, we will happily sell you any and all the packing materials you need to self-pack your items at your home or business. You can then drop these pre-paid, pre-labeled, pre-packed items off at any of our locations for tendering to a carrier agent.
