Mailbox Service FAQ's:
Is your mailbox service only for business users?
No. While we offer many small business services like printing, fax & notary, our mailbox service is also great for the individual who is frequently not home to sign for UPS or FedEx packages, travels frequently or wants to have a second address to keep their home address more private.
What is the difference between a mailbox at MBC and a PO Box at the post office?
A mailbox at MBC provides you a real street address, not a simple PO BOX number. This is especially important when considering FedEx, UPS and other private package carriers require a physical street address for deliveries, leaving you limited to receiving only US Mail at a traditional PO BOX. With additional services like text message package notification and the ability to call in to see if there is mail in your mailbox, a mailbox at MBC is setup to deliver the most convenient service to you as possible.
What does my mailing address look like?
Your mailing address is the same address as the MBC business center, adding on # and your box number. You might say it looks similar to a business suite or apartment address. Your new physical mailing address is only a phone call or visit away.

What mailbox sizes do you offer?
MBC offers a single size of mailbox, however keep in mind all packages (and mail overflow if needed) are stored in our parcel room. We leave a claim ticket in your mailbox you can use at the counter to pick-up your traceable and larger items.
How do I open a mailbox?
Call us or stop by! You will need to provide two valid forms of identification, one of which must include a photograph.
What is a mailbox service agreement?
A service agreement lays out the terms and conditions of MBC providing mailbox service to you. It's mostly the usual yada yada (don't commit crimes, don't abuse the service, etc). Contact us for more details.
How much does a mailbox agreement cost?
Our base individual/family mailbox starts at $18/month when renting for a year. Additional fees of $5/month apply to list a business name or additional adults who are not the spouse/partner of the main box-holder. Note these fees are only for business names or additional adults who will receive mail in their name(s). Anyone with a key can pick up the mail/packages.
If I don't use the entire term, are there any refund options?
Because our rates are discounted the longer out in the future you pre-pay for, our mailbox rent is no refundable. If you move away, we recommend keeping your box open until your next renewal date, and setting up mail forwarding service with us so we can re-package your items and forward them to wherever you'd like.
What is the minimum length of an agreement?
We will rent a mailbox for a short as one month - however as a cost savings we hope to develop a longer term relationship with you and keep you year after year at our lowest rates.
How much mail can I receive at my mailbox?
Our mailboxes are designed for small business and personal use. We aren't setup to receive pallets of freight or a truckload of TV's or Furniture. That said, we're pretty flexible with your needs. If you plan on receiving what you consider a large volume of mail or packages, please contact us and discuss your individual needs.
What happens if I receive more mail than can fit in my mailbox?
We like to keep in simple. We simply empty your mailbox into a sealed bag/box, and process/check your new "package" in like any other package you receive. A package claim ticket is then placed in your mailbox that you can bring to the counter to claim you bag of mail.
Can I receive packages in my mailbox? From other carriers?
You can receive packages from any carrier with your mailbox agreement. We don't limit you to USPS only items like a government owned post office box.
Can I transfer my agreement to another My Business Center location if I relocate?
Because each location is individually operated, we don't currently offer a transfer service, however we can/will forward items from one mailbox to another through our mail forwarding services, postage and handling fees apply for this service.
I'm moving to the Bakken, can I open a mailbox before arriving at my new location?
Yes. Contact us to set up your mailbox over the phone. Upon arrival (and prior to receiving a key/access to your box) we will need to complete the government required form 1583 and collect two forms of ID.
Can you forward my mail if I am away?
Yes. We can forward your mail to any domestic or international address our carriers will go to. Our mail forwarding service is $3 per forward (not item), plus the cost of postage/shipping & supplies. Please note that we can only forward "all" the mail or "none" of the mail. If you are sharing a mailbox with other recipients, we cannot specifically forward one person's mail. The best alternative is to have one of your fellow mailbox-recipients sort out your mail, then bring to the counter where a member of our team can package and send your mail with any of our carriers/services available.
Isn't mail forwarding supposed to be free? Why do I have to pay for forwarding of my mail?
We understand that most people are used to the government post office forwarding for free. This is only partly true. The US Post Office will forward mail for INDIVIDUALS only when it is coming FROM a RESIDENTIAL address. If you were to receive mail at an office building, the Post Office will not allow you to put a change of address in since it is coming FROM a COMMERCIAL address. Our Business Centers unfortunately for the free forwarding are considered COMMERCIAL addresses, thus forwarding is a service we offer, for a fee, something the Post Office won't offer at all (at any price). To forward your mail we require your box to remain open & current, and to have a credit card on file for all forwarding fees to be applied to. We can forward at just about any time interval you'd like. If moving, we recommend you contact your bank, cell phone carrier, former and present employers, Amazon, eBay and any other person or company you've used your private mailbox address with. Once your box is closed, your mail will be discarded, shredded or recycled for the first 6 months and returned to sender thereafter. (The Post Office rules do not allow us to return items to sender for the first 6 months after your box is closed).
Can you hold my mail if I am away?
Yes. As long as your mailbox is kept current on fees, we will hold all of your mail and packages until you return. If the volume of stored materials becomes excessive we will contact you to make proper arrangements.
Can call to check if I have mail?
Yes. You can call us to find out if there is mail or packages waiting. We also offer free text message notifications of when your packages have arrived.
When can I pick up my mail?
If you are a mailbox holder, you can pick up your mail whenever it’s convenient for you. Our locations keep your mail secure, and most locations offer 24-hour access.
Can other people receive mail at my mailbox?
Yes! Our base rent includes you, the boxholder, your spouse and children under 18 years of age. Additional adults and company names may be added at a rate of $5/month per recipient. Please let us know if you receive mail in any nicknames, former last names etc. We don't charge additional rates
Can other people pickup my mail at my mailbox?
Yes. Your friends, employees or others can pick up your mail and packages, as long as they have your mailbox key. We assume anyone with your key is authorized to pick up items. If you lose your key, or feel that someone has it that should not, contact us immediately so we can change your lock and issue new keys.
